Artist-reporter Franklin McMahon discusses the interests which led him to take up his unique line of work. This work has taken him all over the world, while his drawings and paintings have appeared in almost every national magazine in the United States.

His humorous description of the initiation, coverage and publication of two of his illustrated reports, "Goose Hunting in Cairo, Illinois" for Sports Illustrated, and "The European Common Market" for Fortune Magazine-affords interesting insights into what McMahon calls "the personal qualities of drawing."
